Estimated electricity costs
Important: Results depend on your entered assumptions. Actual power draw, energy consumption, tariffs and usage vary. Standing charges are excluded; these are estimates, not measured bills.
How it works
Divide the energy-label figure (kWh per 100 eco cycles) by 100 for kWh per wash. Electricity cost = kWh × tariff. Optional water cost = litres per wash ÷ 1,000 × combined water/sewerage price per m³. Annual cost uses your weekly cycle count × 52.
Worked UK example
Example: a label showing 70 kWh per 100 cycles corresponds to 0.70 kWh per eco wash. At an illustrative 26.32p/kWh, that is about 18p electricity per cycle. Water charges, if entered, are added separately.
Before relying on your estimate
The UK dishwasher energy label shows electricity in kWh per 100 eco cycles and litres of water per eco cycle. Other programmes and drying options can differ. The optional water price should combine supply and sewerage if you pay both by volume.

Common questions
Why use kWh per 100 cycles rather than watts?
Dishwashers heat, wash and dry in stages, so power changes within a cycle. The label’s measured eco-programme consumption is a better basis for that programme.
Where is the number on my dishwasher label?
Look for kWh per 100 cycles and litres per cycle on the energy label or product information sheet. They relate to the eco programme.
Which electricity price should I enter?
Your unit rate in pence per kWh appears on your energy bill or tariff information. The starting value is illustrative and should be replaced with your actual rate. Visit Ofgem for official energy price information.
